BLDC sensorless motor drive and parameter estimation based on two interacting Kalman filters

Project description

A BLDC motor is driven sensorlessly with a Kalman filter. In order to avoid an initial motor parameter calibration, an online parameter estimation is performed with a second Kalman filter. Moreover, the addition of a position-dependent signal extends the operating range of the technique down to zero speed. Simulations give promising results and the application of the technique on a prototype will start soon.
